Mutation operator

Just like the crossover, this operator also mimics the biological mutation operator. Although, children inherit 99% of characteristics from their parent but mutation allows to introduce new traits in the genetic information of an individual. Moreover, it allows to maintain diversity and stops population converging prematurely. In the literature, there are so many ways to perform mutation; however, a few well-known techniques are discussed here in this lesson.
